Cebu → Siquijor: compare the journey options

Compare OceanJet sectors via Tagbilaran, Lite Ferries to Larena and a flight-to-Dumaguete alternative, with separate transfer guidance.

Guidance reviewed . Source checks describe the evidence read, not confirmation that transport or attractions operate today.

Confirm with the operator or conductor before travelling. Confirm each fare, boarding point, admission and return separately. Connections are not guaranteed.

Your journey

  1. Ferry

    Option A: OceanJet via Tagbilaran

OceanJet’s published network includes Cebu–Tagbilaran and Tagbilaran–Siquijor sectors. Confirm whether your booking is one through ticket or two tickets, whether you change vessel, and the connection conditions. Current through-ticket availability is Not yet verified. [1]

  2. Ferry

Option B: Lite Ferries to Larena

Lite Ferries lists Cebu–Larena on specific October dates. “Direct” must not be read as “non-stop”: verify intermediate calls and your arrival date with the operator. Larena is a different port from Siquijor town. [2]

  3. Flight and local transfer

Option C: fly to Dumaguete, then ferry

Treat this as a separately booked alternative to investigate. A current Cebu–Dumaguete flight for your date, airfare and minimum connection time are Not yet verified. If available, arrange an airport-to-port transfer before the Siquijor ferry.

  4. Local transfer

Match the arrival port to your resort

Confirm Larena or Siquijor town on your ticket and arrange the matching resort pickup. The provincial transport guide describes local tricycles and hired vehicles; current quotes need confirmation. [3]

Frequently asked questions

Is the Tagbilaran connection guaranteed?

Not yet verified. Ask OceanJet about the ticket, vessel change, missed-connection terms and travel-date availability.

Are the fares and connections guaranteed?

No. Confirm with the operator or conductor before travelling. A journey guide does not verify a vehicle is running today, reserve a seat or protect a connection.

Sources & updates
  1. OceanJet — daily schedule publication · Ferry operator

Last checked · Publication/effective date not stated. Published Cebu–Tagbilaran and Tagbilaran–Siquijor sectors; an older publication is not evidence of current departures or a protected through ticket.

  2. Lite Ferries — published schedules · Ferry operator

Last checked · Publication/effective date not stated. Cebu–Larena is listed for specific October 2026 dates; a listed journey does not establish a non-stop sailing or a guaranteed connection.

  3. Siquijor Provincial Tourism — transportation · Official

Last checked · Publication/effective date not stated. Tricycles, jeepneys and rental motorbikes are described. The page retains pandemic-era restrictions; no current fare or rental policy is inferred.

Source citations support only the statements alongside them. “Not yet verified” identifies missing current evidence; Byahi planning advice is a suggested sequence, not an operator timetable.
